Considerations When Choosing Diamond Wedding Rings

It is common for a couple to come in to choose the diamond wedding rings while much more common for the man to choose the engagement ring. If you are shopping as a couple, or even on your own, there are some things you can do before you ever walk into a jewelry store to make your shopping experience more positive.

The key component in selecting the right wedding rings is to understand the personal tastes, the expectations and the look you want to achieve. A wedding ring for a man is typically a stand-alone piece of jewelry, but for a woman it will have to match with her engagement ring. Additionally, if you want to add to the bridal set with an anniversary ring or an eternity band, you will need to consider how this will all come together in the future.

Gemstones and Diamonds

A plain wedding band is very traditional, and it is also practical for everyday wear. However, for special occasions or to add a touch of sparkle and brilliance, adding diamonds and gemstones to the band takes it to a new level.

There are several styles of wedding rings that include diamonds. Remember, the diamonds on the band will be smaller than the central diamond on the engagement ring for the woman, but it can be a single central diamond for the man’s wedding ring.

Diamonds combined with precious gems such as rubies, sapphires and emeralds create an amazing look. These types of diamond wedding rings can be paired with any style of engagement ring and look stunning with solitaire styles.

Width and Size

All men and women have different sizes of ring fingers, and therefore different sizes of rings look proportional. For an individual with a shorter ring finger, narrower diamond wedding rings are going to be more comfortable and also provide a more balanced look.

For those with longer fingers, a wider ring or band with larger stones will look more natural, and will provide the dazzle and sparkle you want.

Depending on the specific styles of the diamond wedding rings for the husband and the wife, similar but not identical styles may be the best option. There are some designs that are definitely feminine, but there will be a masculine ring option that matches very well to create a pair.
